Air Fryer Bread Rolls are a modern take on the classic Indian bread rolls. Traditionally deep-fried, these rolls are made of bread slices with a spicy, flavorful filling of mashed potatoes and spices, rolled and crisped to perfection. The use of an air fryer offers a healthier alternative without compromising on the classic taste and texture.
Assemble all ingredients to avoid last minute rush.
Boil potatoes completely in a Pressure Cooker or in a Cookpot or in an Instant Pot as per your convenience. Once cool down, finely grate with a grater or use potato masher.

Cooking
For Stuffing
Take a big bowl and add mashed potatoes in it, followed by chopped onion.
Now, add red chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, salt and dry mango powder.
Then, add chopped green chilies and coriander leaves.
Mix everything very well. Check the taste and add more salt and spices if required.
Take a small portion of the potato mixture in your palms. Make rolls of the potato mixture. The size of the rolls would depend on the size of your bread, make sure potato rolls should not too big or too thick.
Chop off the side crusts of the bread slices. Do not throw away the side crusts, roast on skillet or in air fryer, grind them and keep in an airtight container. Your bread crumbs are ready for other recipes.
Making Bread Rolls
Dip the bread slice into the water just for a second and squeeze off the excess water, make sure to squeeze all water but do not break the bread.
Now, place the prepared potato stuffing roll on one side of the moist bread slice.
Gently roll the bread and join the edges of the bread.
Press the edges and seal them tightly. Also, securely seal the top and bottom part of the bread. Make sure there would not be any uncovered potato stuffing otherwise it will leak out while frying. Cover any uncovered part of bread roll with a piece of another moist bread and press gently to get an even look.
At the end, you would get a neat bread roll. Depending on your choice, you can give any shape to the bread roll, cylindrical or round.
Now, place prepared bread rolls in single layer in the Air Fryer Basket. Brush some oil over the bread rolls.
And air fry them first for 7-8 minutes at 180°C then slightly flip them and again air fry them for another 7-8 minutes at 180°C or until turn golden brown.
Air fry all bread rolls in the same way.
Serve Bread Rolls with coriander chutney or any sauce of your choice!
Choosing red chilli powder: Use Kashmiri red chili powder as it is low in spice and gives good red color.
Frying tip: It is important to flip bread rolls in between the timer for evenly roasting. I recommend to check every 6 to 7 minutes so that they will not get too much brown.
Choosing Bread: Feel free to choose any bread of your choice.
Dry Mango Powder: Instead of dry mango powder, you can use lemon juice or dry pomegranate seeds powder / anardana powder. Or chaat masala can also be used as an alternative.
For making perfect Bread Roll Shape: First make cylindrical shape of potato stuffing and then add in the bread, it will hold nicely and give perfect shape.
Salt and Spices: Add according to your taste preferences.
Oil: Use any neutral tasting oil for this recipe.
