Step by Step Paneer Butter Masala Recipe

Ingredients
Masala paste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp butter, salted
- 5 pcs cloves
- 2 pods cardamom / Elaichi
- 2 whole Onions sliced
- 2 clove garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 3 whole tomato sliced
- 15 pcs cashew
Curry
- 2 tsp oil
- 2 tsp butter, salted
- 1 pc bay leaf / tej patta
- 1 tsp chilli
- 1 whole Onions finely chopped
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- ¾ tsp coriander powder
- ¼ tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp cream
- 16 tsp paneer / cottage cheese
- 1 tsp kasuri methi / dry fenugreek leaves
- 2 tsp coriander leaves / cilantro finely chopped
Instructions
Tomato-onion paste
- Make sure your ingredients are prepared
- Heat 2 tbsp oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large pot, and add 4 cloves, 2 pods cardamom and saute on low flame until it turns aromatic. Then add 1.5 onions, 2 clove garlic, 1 inch ginger and saute until onions shrink slightly.
- Now add 3 tomato, 15 cashew and saute for 2 minutes. Then, cover and boil for 10 minutes, or until tomato softens. Let it cool completely and transfer to the blender and blend to smooth paste.
- Pass the curry to the filter to get rid of seeds and skin. The tomato-onion paste is ready. keep aside.
Paneer butter masala
- Heat 2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp butter, 1 bay leaf and 1 chilli ina a lrge pot. Saute until the spices turn aromatic, and then add 1 onion and saute until onions turn and golden brown.
- Keep the flame on low. Add ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, ¾ tsp coriander powder, ¼ tsp cumin powder, ½ garam masala and 1 tsp salt.
- Continue to saute until the spices turn aromatic and add in prepared onion tomato paste and mix well. Cook until the oil separates from the masala paste.
- GO ahead and add 1 cup water and mix well adjusting the consistency. In addition, add 2 tbsp cream and mix well and 20 cubes of paneer and mix gently. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add 1 tsp Kasuri methi and 2 tbsp coriander and mix well.
- Ta da! Serve, and enjoy the heavenly taste of Paneer Butter Masala.
