With this Karwa chauth Thali, you can prepare your dinner within 60 minutes and enjoy the festival with your family and friends. All recipes are without onion and garlic keeping in mind preparing food for fast. However, if you want you can add onion and garlic as per your choice.

What is Karwa chauth?

Karwa chauth is a festival celebrated on fourth Day after purnima (a full moon) in the month of Kartika by Indian Women. On this day, all married women or women who are about to marry, keep fast from sunrise to moonrise for the longevity and safety of their husbands. Karwa Is another word for ‘pot’ (a small earthen pot of water) and Chauth means ‘fourth’ In Hindi. Big earthen pots in which water is stored are called Karwas.

There are many mythological stories associated with Karwa chauth as to how this Karwa chauth fast started. Whatever be the story, salute to Indian women who sacrifices for their husbands without eating and drinking. Such is the love of Indian women for their husbands. All women dress up nicely on this day and pray to Karwa Goddess for their husband’s long life.

  1. Palak Paneer: This is very simple and easy recipe and can be prepare within 15 minutes. You will get all nutrients from Palak / Spinach and Paneer / Cottage Cheese after the day long fast which is very essential for recovering of the body.
  1. Jeera Aloo: Jeera Aloo is such a recipe liked by everyone. It is easy and quick yet extremely delicious. You just need potatoes and Indian spices for this Aloo Masala Recipe and it can be prepared within 10 minutes.
  1. Mix Vegetable Raita: Mix Vegetable Raita is such a favorite side to round off any meal. It’s a simple and easy 15 minutes recipe that you can prepare with veggies of your own choice.
  1. Poori: Poori Recipe is quick and easy bread to make. You just need three ingredients, whole wheat flour, salt, and water. You can add a bit of oil or ghee optionally. In my Poori Recipe, I would like to add carom seeds/ajwain as well because Pooris are deep fried in oil and sometimes heavy on digestion. So, carom seeds / ajwain helps in better digestion of food.
  1. Kurkuri Bhindi: Again, Kurkuri Bhindi or Bhindi Fry Recipe is prepared with many variations. You can add gram flour or rice flour with the spices. Moreover, you can prepare this recipe in Airfryer or Oven or Deep fry it in oil. I have shared the recipe without gramflour or rice flour prepared in Airfryer. With my Bhindi Fry Recipe you can prepare it within 20 minutes.
  1. Chana Masala: Chana Masala Recipe without garlic and onion is one such versatile recipe that you can add any day and any time. You can boil chana/ chickpeas in advance before a day and store in your refrigerator. Just in 10 minutes your Chana Masala Recipe is ready to serve.

Of course, you can add varieties of other dishes and desserts in your karwa chauth Dinner Menu like Rasmalai, Kheer, Custard, Gajar Halwa, Coconut Ladoo, Besan Burfi etc. But more than above mentioned recipe list may take more time than 60 minutes depending on the cooking expertise of individuals.
