Ingredients
- ½ cup mint leaves
- ½ cup coriander leaves / cilantro chopped
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- ½ inch ginger chopped
- 2 tsp aamchur / dry mango powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- ¼ tsp Asafoetida / hing
- 2 tsp black salt / rock salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper powder
- 4 cups water
Instructions
Preparation
- Assemble all ingredients together to avoid last minute rush.
- Wash thoroughly mint leaves and roughly chop them.
Method
- Add mint leaves, cilantro or coriander leaves, chopped ginger and ½ cup water to a Blender and blend them into a smooth paste.
- Transfer the paste to Bowl.
- Add lime juice, ground black pepper, roasted cumin powder, black salt, asafoetida, salt, dry mango powder, granulated sugar, and tamarind paste.
- Add the remaining 3 ½ cups of water and stir well. Refrigerate it for 3 to 4 hours for the flavors to combine together.
- Pour Jaljeera into Serving Glasses. Add few ice cubes and serve chilled.
