Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups puffed rice / murmura / churumuri
  • 1 Potatoes
  • 1 Onions
  • 1 to Tomato
  • 4 papdi
  • 2 tbsp Sev or mixture
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Green chutney
  • 3 tbsp Tamarind chutney
  • coriander leaves / cilantro

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Assemble all ingredients together to avoid last minute rush.
  • Boil potatoes using Pressure Cooker or Cookpot.
  • Wash and finely chop onion, tomato and coriander leaves.
  • Saute peanuts with very little oil in a Pan or Kadai.
  • Make green chutney and tamarind chutney in advance or on the same day. (Please refer my other posts)

Method

  • Take a large Mixing Bowl and add puffed rice.
  • Now, add chopped onion, tomato, boiled and cubed potato, crushed papdi, and sautéed peanuts.
  • Next, add chaat masala, chilli powder and salt. Mix everything very well.
  • Now, add tamarind chutney, green chutney and lemon juice. Again slightly mix everything without turning puffed rice soggy.
  • After that, sprinkle sev, more crushed papdi over the Bhelpuri mixture.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Enjoy yum street style authentic Bhelpuri.

Notes & Tips

  • Salt & Spices: You can always adjust salt and spices as per your preference.  
  • Chutneys: In case you don’t have time to make chutneys, could use store bought chutneys as well.
  • Serve immediately: Serve Bhel Puri immediately as you make, otherwise puffed rice will turn soggy even after few minutes.
  • If puffed rice are not crisp? If puffed rice are not crisp then roast them for few minutes in a Pan over low heat until they become crisp.
